How to use Add Border

Upload your image
Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP image onto the tool or click to select.

Customise the border
Set the border width (1-200 px), choose a colour using the colour picker, and optionally set corner radius for rounded corners.

Apply and download
Click Apply Effect to add the border. The output canvas is larger than the input by 2× the border width on each side.
When borders improve your images
A border adds breathing room between your image content and whatever surface it sits on. Product photos benefit from a consistent white margin - a uniform 20-40px border across a set of images creates a polished, cohesive appearance that a plain crop cannot achieve. Print preparation is another common use: labs often require a specific bleed or margin around the image content, and adding it here means the image arrives ready without any adjustments at the lab.
Corner radius turns a rectangular frame into something that feels more at home in digital contexts. A subtle rounding on a screenshot or profile image softens the overall composition without requiring a separate design application.
Controlling the look
Border width, color, and corner radius are independent controls. A thin 4px dark frame acts more like a rule line than a decorative element. A wide 80px colored frame becomes a dominant visual feature that recontextualizes the image. The canvas expands to accommodate the border rather than overlapping the original image, so no content is lost or cropped in the process. If you need the image at a specific size after adding the border, resize it to the target dimensions as a follow-up step.
