Shadow settings explained
Blur controls how soft or sharp the shadow is — high blur gives a diffuse, soft look suitable for light studio settings; low blur creates a harder, more dramatic shadow. Offset controls how far the shadow drops below the object — a small positive offset (10-20px) looks natural for most products. Strength controls shadow opacity — 40-60% is realistic for most studio-style shots, while higher values create a bolder graphic effect.
Platform requirements
Most e-commerce platforms require product images on a pure white (#ffffff) background. Amazon, Etsy, and Shopify all have this requirement for main product images. Set the background color to white and add a subtle shadow (blur 20-30px, offset 10-15px, strength 40-50%) for a result that passes most platform requirements while looking more professional than a flat cutout.
